The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu concludes her season and plans to retain coach through next year.
Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments during the season.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events of the year because of a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.
The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health before starting next year's training.
Her upcoming training are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.
The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.
Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.
She was also playing noticeably restricted in the third set against Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern during parts of the season.
Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.
The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.
Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.
She worked with Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.
The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in late this year.
She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.
The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
