Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
