Celebrity Traitors Finale Mistakenly Made Available A Full Day Prematurely Beyond the UK
Note: This article does not contain spoilers concerning the series conclusion
This final installment of this star-studded edition of The Traitors was mistakenly made available by overseas distributors prior to its scheduled UK broadcast on Thursday, according to a network statement.
Reports indicate that the final was watched by a few hundred subscribers of the online platform Crave in Canada; they could watch it for a short period before it was taken down.
The installment being uploaded was not considered a error by the producing network, and a representative for the company urged those who believe they know the result of the series to "refrain from posting potential spoilers".
"We urge anyone who believes they have uncovered the ending of the celebrity edition to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves," the statement read.
"We ask you to refrain from posting any spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been closely watching every development of the show can enjoy the finale this evening."
The Celebrity Traitors is presently the most-watched TV program of the current year, with an average of 12.6 million people over the initial installments.
Fans of the series have been waiting to see whether traitors Cat Burns and Alan Carr will secure the £100,000 for charity or whether faithfuls the faithful contestants will be victorious.
A former winner of the third season of The Traitors commented that "everyone dislikes spoilers", which are "the thief of joy".
The winner mentioned they will be sitting down to view the finale tonight live, with his entire family and "a bucket of popcorn".
Thursday's concluding installment is lengthened to 70 minutes on the main channel, with an extended edition of the companion show scheduled to broadcast on BBC Two following the final.
Presenter Ed Gamble will be joined by the cast and the co-host as they respond to the show's outcome.
