BF6 Battle Royale Launches This Week as a Free-to-Play Experience

After quite some time of anticipation, the battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 is officially arriving. Last week's speculation indicating its arrival would happen alongside the first season were spot-on. Players can dive into the mode starting very soon.

Season 1 Introducing a Brand-New Arena, Mode, and Weapons

Together with the BR release, the new season is also kicking off. It brings a fresh location, a fresh game type, and an expanded arsenal. On top of that, Redsec is being introduced. A included trailer will become available at launch, providing fans a preview of what's to come.

Free-to-Play Structure Allows the Mode Accessible to Any Player

Possibly the key news is that the battle royale mode will be F2P. Much like popular offerings, you don't have to own the original Battlefield 6 to participate. Several participants have earlier tested alpha versions of the mode. These tests were conducted in a testing environment, which the team described as their biggest community collaboration project.

The intense thrill during encounters with another squad is unmatched in other BR game. It seems do or die, and you actually care if you die or survive.
Even though I considered myself a snob previously, I'm now a fan of the BR mode now that I've experienced it.

These first feedback from participants have been very positive. Of course, the experience may have been adjusted over the past month or two in terms of game balance and tempo. However, early signs are positive that this new mode could be a genuine rival to popular titles. Many are expecting that the most effective firearms from the main game will be available in the new mode.
